The 2023 Author Zone (TAZ) Awards were announced over the weekend. Darneisha “Dar” Airhart, Dylan Weiss, Kerrie Taber, and Harold Trisler, all Red Engine writers, won.
Darneshia Airhart won for her children’s book, Louder and Funnier, the story of 1930s band leader Alfonso Trent. Her illustrations were done by Nadia Lougin.
Dylan Weiss was a finalist in the children’s category with Traveling Our Road. Her illustrator was Abigail Walcuke.
In the history category, Kerrie Taber won for Quarantining Hate…
…and Harold Trisler was the finalist for his book, Finding the Lost Dalton.
