The Protagonist Café, owned by Pieces: Board Game Bar and Restaurant, is filled with 5000 used books for purchase. In the Soulard neighborhood, it provides community space for gatherings, meeting, and drinking freshly roasted coffee. Beans are roasted at the Antagonist Café.

The library has a 27-foot bookshelf and a corner nook for reading. The building was erected pre Civil War.

Protagonist Café offers tea, lattes, seasonal drinks, and drip, pour-over and cold brew. They also have a novel bookclub.

Parties over 4 should make a reservation 2 weeks in advance.
