A group of bank heists performed by a person in a jester costume occur in Pizza County, Pennsylvania. A veteran reporter dubs the thief as The Harlequin.
Local law enforcement’s attempts to capture him are unsuccessful, so the governor sets up a task force to stop the thief before he does anymore harm. Federal officers, state troopers and local officers team up to grab the culprit.
Do they succeed? You’ll have to read the book to discover the fate of the mild-mannered man in the clown uniform.
Stephen Tannenbaum wrote this and three other novels: Clovis Hughes, Complications, and The Invisible Man of Pizza County. You can read Tannenbaum’s obituary below.
