After 30 years, my book, “Justice Divided” is finally born.

Anyone interested in judicial history will be pleased to learn of a

new book by Judge Jim Spears. “Justice Divided,“ which pertains to the

circuit judges of Sebastian County, takes its title from the county having

two courthouses--one in Greenwood and another in Fort Smith. This is not a

dry tome on legal minutia, rather it is the briskly written story of how

lawyers and judges on the Arkansas border attempted to dispense justice.

I’m excited to showcase my baby after forty years working to bring it to life. Published by Red Engine Press, it is now available at Amazon or other online bookstores…and Brick and Mortar Bookstores around the world. If you don’t see it on the shelf, ask them to order it for you.

However, if you want a copy signed by yours truly in the next couple of months, I’ll be appearing at these establishments and organizations:

“Chapters on Main” Bookstore on Main Street in Van Buren, AR, November 12, 2022, at 10am.

“Bookish” at the Bakery on South 7th in Fort Smith, AR, November26, 2022, at 2pm.

Fort Smith Public Library, Fort Smith, AR, at December 6, 2022, at 4pm.

Come see me and hear the sad, funny, obscure, and all-too-human stories I’ve shared about cases our judges have dealt with over the years. Hope to see you soon.
