Emergence: The John Bax Story

John Bax loved birds. Born in Belgium, he grew up under Nazi Occupation during WWII. He later immigrated to Canada. He taught himself English, bought a movie camera and taught himself about cinematography. Spending months at a time in the wild, he filmed birds and their nesting habits throughout North, Central and South America, He spent the last 25 years of his life in south Texas. His work appeared in films by Discovery, Audubon, Profiles of Nature, Disney, the Gorgas Science Foundation and others.
