Traditional to Digital or Digitally Traditional?

By Abigail Walouke (abbimation), Red Engine Illustrator

I have never been an artist that has vibed with the digital art movement. The very clean motion graphic with smooth edges “inside the lines” look, not for me. I have always loved roughed edges, ink splotches, the texture of a colored pencil, getting charcoal dust all over the place.

And when I did go digital, I promised myself my traditional drawing skills would always strongly be reflected in my digital work. And it still has.
