In Out of the Depths by David Harry Tannenbaum, Bernard Helgman tries to stitch together the

fragments of his life from when he was young and helped the Germans with medical experiments to when he is hailed as a world-renowned reconstructive surgeon.


Helgman’s personal and professional life fall apart when he is recognized by a survivor of the concentration camp where he worked in order to survive. Does he own up to his past or try to get around his history? You’ll find out when you read this intriguing book.


David Harry Tannenbaum has written a story that tugs at your emotions. The story is well worth reading.
