Barbie Dolls: Inspiring Women
Barbie dolls came into being on March 9, 1959, when toy maker Mattel released them. Although forever 19, she is now 63.
In March 2018, Mattel released its SHEROES series, a line of 17 dolls to celebrate well-known women. Among them were dolls saluting Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart, Bindi Irwin, and Katherine Johnson.
Today we salute Frida Kahlo, an artist with an amazing personal story. Kahlo was born in Mexico in 1907. The doll celebrates her inspiring life.
